The ingredients needed to make Suji Upma:
- Get 100 gm suji
- Get 2 chopped onions
- Take 3 chopped tomato
- Make ready as needed .few Rai seeds
- Take as per your taste .salt
- Take as required .Coriander leaf for garnishing
- Get 2 chopped Green chilli
- Prepare as required .water
It is nutritious, tasty and very easy to make at home by mixing and cooking roasted rava (suji, semolina) and sautéed vegetables in water. In Andhra they call this upma 'Bombay rava' upma. It is extremely soft and spongy in texture. I have a Indian friend and have always looked for a Upma recipe that comes close to his!
Steps to make Suji Upma:
- 1.Take a pan to that add put half teaspoon ghee and roast a Suji till it becomes light golden red in colour. Then take out roasted Suji from a pan in a plate and keep it aside.
- 2.Then in a take 1 tablespoon refined oil to that add Rai seeds and then add chopped onion followed by 2 chopped Green chilli and allow it to cool for 2-3minutes till the onion gives beautiful golden red colour.
- 3.After this add 1 chopped tomato and let it cook for 2 minutes. Then add Suji to it. Stir it well.
- 4.Then add water and salt as per your requirement. Cook it for 5 minutes. Your Upma is ready to eat. Serve it hot in a plate and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
