- Soak the puffed rice in water for 5 min.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and allow them to splutter.
- Now add the chopped onions, tomatoes and crushed green chilli, ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric and saute till onions and tomatoes become translucent.
- Remove the water from the soaked puffed rice and squeeze them between palms until the excess water is drained out from them
- Add this puffed rice into the prepared onion,tomato gravy and mix well. Finally add the finely powdered roasted chana dal in it and mix well.
Puffed rice is commonly called as murmura in Kanda Poha and Aloo Poha are most common dishes across Maharashtra but uggani is mainly served in South India.
