- Soak rice for 30 minutes
- Chop onions, curry leaves, garlic and red chillies.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal the mustard seeds must splutter and crackle
- Now add onions and fry it till it turns soft and then add garlic, red chillies and curry leaves
- Add 6 cup water and then add salt mix it and add rice.
- Once it starts to boil and then close the lid and pressure cook it for 3 whistles for high flame.
- Serve it with sambar or rasam
