The ingredients needed to make Yam pottage:
- Take 1/2 medium size yam
- Make ready 2 cups palm oil
- Prepare 2 medium onion
- Get 3 medium tattashe
- Get 3 tablespoon crayfish
- Prepare 3 Maggi cube
- Prepare 1 1/2 litres water
- Get to taste Salt
It is cooked in a blend of pepper, tomatoes and onions and palm oil. Yam pottage/Yam porridge locally known as[ Asaro] in Yoruba part of Nigerian is a delicious meal usually made with yam and palm oil. Yam, blended pepper & tomatoes, garlic, crayfish, leaf pumpkin, salt, palmoil, maggi, onion, water, roasted fish. Cut the yam into small bits and wash thoroughly.
Instructions to make Yam pottage:
- In a clean pot of water, add diced yam and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add palm oil and diced onion, 1Maggi cube tattashe crayfish and cook further for 10 minutes, or until yam is soft.
- Add the remaining Maggi and salt to taste.. Allow to Simmer for 5 minutes.. Serve hotπππ
